The Mark of The Beast

You need to know for sure what the mark of the beast is to not take it. What it boils down to is obedience or disobedience.
Are you really willing and want to be obedient to God? The answer better be, yes, yes.

How can we know what is the mark of the beast. We know God marks His own with a mark that only the angels see, same as the evil ones can see Christ is dwelling in you the hope of Glory and they know they can’t touch you. The only day of the week made Holy and sanctified is the Sabbath, means seventh. Keeping the Sabbath is an acknowledgement of obedience and that we know He is the Lord that will cleanse us from our sins. It is a sign to Him that we desire to please Him and do His will by not desecrating the Sabbath by polluting it or out doing our pleasure or work and our own words. It is the day we are to come and honor Him and praise Him. The day is one Seventh of our time to be with Him and rest from our work and to be filled with His Spirit dwelling with Him in His Word, not ours.

Isa 58:13 ¶ If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Ex 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Hebrew Dictionary for sign. - 'owth oth
probably from 225 (in the sense of appearing); a signal (literally or figuratively), as a flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence, etc.:--mark, miracle, (en-)sign, token.

Right from the beginning God marked His true ones who kept the Sabbath Holy and the same today for God does not change. Here you see God’s mark, now what is the Beast’s mark?

I believe it easy to determine the beast that is the one to be looking at to find his mark.

Re 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Re 13:11 ¶ And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
Re 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Re 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, ( To the wonderment of men he does miracles as above to prove he is god )
Re 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

He has had to stay hidden out of sight and so at present “is not” and when he is allowed as 13:11 states he will not be hidden no more but comes as a glorious being claiming to be Christ. Yes in great wonder nearly all the world will receive him as such.

It will be when he comes on the scene as god he will then demand all to keep his holy day Sunday as he is lord of the first day of the week. Then some means will be to identify or mark the ones who will obey this decree he has made. Satan is the Sun god and Sunday is his day and instituted it through the apostate Papacy.

Re 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. ( false doctrine )
Re 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Re 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. ( “patience” is enduring continuance )

Persist in Sunday keeping instead of Sabbath and when the Sunday is enforced the mark will be applied.

You may mark my words on this if you like.

First of all, I will say that I agree and see many times even in the New Testament that there are orders to "keep the commandments". Then again, Jesus says the main command is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, etc...Here's where I struggle:

1 Corin 9 (Paul speaking)

19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.

If Paul is not under the law, I certainly am not.

I can see very good arguments on both sides of the issue of whether the 10 commandments are currently in effect or not.

That said, if a governmental law comes down the road saying you are to worship on Sunday/close everything on Sunday, that you probably don't want any part of...as regards revelation. BUT until that time, maybe it doesn't matter? I'm not sure. Like I said, I can really see both sides of the issue and there are verses that back up both.

Praying for wisdom and guidance,

John

Hi John,

No I am not under the law either, the ones that are those whom the law is not in their hearts. That law has become our law too, as it is the law of Love and this is what drives us to do His will.

What Paul is saying, we are to discern with whom we are witnessing and witness to edify them. I have some verses I'll paste but they are not the ones I wanted for this discussion as Paul wrote so much and some of his writings folks take all wrong.

Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
Heb 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

And people want to wrest those also but I don't think it is hard to understand.

I find the decree will go out of the mouth of Satan and the world governments will all fall in with their "god". It is near future.

Thanks John, a very good comment.

I agree we are near the end...I'm just struggling to "do the right thing".

Here's one more:

Eph 2:
14For he himself is our peace, who has made
the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

Jesus set aside the law and its commands thus taking away any hostility between us and God. At least that seems pretty clear to me. ARGH!

:)

Prodding along in my study,

John

One more relevant one... Romans 13

8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”[a] and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

That's a pretty solid statement, there. Tough to argue that one.

Surely some of it comes down to the old "if you think you are breaking the law, you are", etc.

So belief in Jesus and His sacrifice along with following His ways (loving others) seems to cover this. I think I may be finally being convinced after months on the other side. LOL Who knows where I will land tomorrow, but these are pretty solid passages if you ask me.

Hi John,

Yes I see you are struggling with this but you need'nt do that because the statements of Jesus are the tough ones to dispell.

Mt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

John could you trust Him if He kept changing His Law? It is as eternal as He is.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jo 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Maybe it boils down to, who do we love the most, the world and it's way or the truth and the way, Jesus and His Word, He was the Word made Flesh.

The tough one for last.-
Mt 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

John I know one thing, He will not ever condemn you for keeping the Sabbath and He keeps it now as His custom has always been and invites you to come and tabernacle with Him and all the Holy Angels and obedient mankind. You would be blessed as Sandra who wrote "Dear Brothers and Sisters" on this blog. Please read her testimony, it is from her heart.

You can take it even further in Hebrews 8:

6 But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.

7 For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.

Cain "sinned", but that was before the 10 commandments, so where was sin defined then? God judged men for good and evil who were part of the covenant of Moses as well as those outside of the covenant. Even now, the laws are "written on our hearts".

Hebrews in general has a great deal of passages about the whole subject. Here is one more.

Hebrews 9

14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

ALL THAT SAID, I still can't be 100% sure...but when Jesus is talking about keeping the commandments, that makes sense because until His resurrection everything is not fulfilled. So at THAT time, yes, the commandments are still active. After the resurrection, the "new covenant" seems to be at play based on the New Testament readings. Even in Revelation when it talks about those keeping the commandments, it could be talking about the laws written on our hearts, not necc the 10 commandments. Or maybe it's referring to those that haven't been washed by His blood - they are judged based on their works.

Like I said originally, I can really see both sides of it, but I think there are various ways in interpreting various "keeping commandments" verses, but there's almost no way to argue against a blatant statement such as Paul's "I'm no longer under the law". I will certainly keep studying, but I think at this point, I have to side on the "new covenant" of Christ being in effect and not the laws given to people who had no other way to relate to God.

It's obvious that people on both sides of the issue have the best intentions and both can certainly make sense in the right circumstances.

And I certainly don't want to dismiss Sandra's story, but I have to assume if she would pick any day of the week and fully dedicate it to God, she would also feel God's power. (I hope that didn't sound harsh - I'm just trying to say seeking out God, whenever it may be, will lead to good things, not necc on the "Sabbath")

Wow - that was long - sorry. :)

It didn't post the 1st half of my comments...:( Here they are again.

yeah - those are definitely passages from the other side of the argument.

Here's the other side of these specific passages, though. On "until all be fulfilled": So, what does Jesus Christ mean when He says fulfill—not abolish? When will “everything be accomplished” because it is clear that the Law will not be changed until that time.

Jesus Himself explains a little more when He instructs the Disciples after His resurrection in the text of Luke 24:

44He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms."

Not the smallest letter, not one stroke of the pen will change in the Law until—all is fulfilled that was written about Jesus Christ the Messiah in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.

According to Jesus Christ in Matthew 5, the Law of Moses will not change or be changed until—everything written about Him in the Old Testament is fulfilled.

Obviously there are Old Test prophecies concerning the Messiah that were fulfilled in Jesus.

These are the “everythings” that had to be fulfilled before the Law of Moses and its covenant could be replaced by the better covenant prophesied in Jeremiah.

To go further down this path—and that these things were fully accomplished so that the Law of Moses could be FULFILLED, here are additional quotes concerning that fulfillment:

Luke 18:31
Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled.

Matthew 26
53Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?"

Mark 14:49
Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled."

Luke 1:1
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us

ALMOST COMPLETED

Luke 22:37
It is written: 'And he was numbered with the transgressors'; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment."

ALL IS COMPLETED

John 19:28
Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty."

Luke 24
44He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms."

45Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things. 49I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

Hi John,

We are no longer under the law when it too is in our heart. The law is the law of true Love to God and true love to man. It has then become our will the same as His. Our love is the law, the law of love. It has become the definition of your character the same as God's, Yahshua/Jesus.

This is what Paul is saying to me anyway. Here is some more verses from Paul that make his stance clear. -

Ro 6:1 ¶ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Ro 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Ro 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Ro 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Ro 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Ro 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Ro 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Ro 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Ro 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Ro 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Ro 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ro 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Ro 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Ro 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Ro 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Now if we fall back in sin the law once again comes and condemns, schoolmasters you. You are again under the law. The law now is galding to you.

It is amazing how many arguments people pull from Paul's writings to show the law was done away with. All will be judged by that law. -

Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

No way shape or form will the Royal Law, Law of Liberty, the Ten Commandments written in stone by finger of Yahshua a copy of the eternal in the Heavenly Sanctuary ever be done away with. They are fulfilled by keeping them in Love.

At the seventh Trump He opens the Temple in Heaven and puts them on display. -

Re 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

"The Ark of His Testamen", that is them !

What Sandra was bringing out is a special Blessing and Peace that comes upon you when you keep Holy His Sabbath and not desecrate it by your own doings etc. and I know the same to be very true, a peace our weary souls need so much and rest we will experience in no other way.

His Blessings be to you John, I direct you to follow Him and no man.

I will add another thought or two to what is discussed above. Why is the weekly Sabbath day special? Because He,- Ex 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

He Blesses it and hallows it because He still rests that day as His custom has always been. This custom is older than the earth and was observed from all eternity according to Enoch and Enoch talked face to face with God. At creation of earth he rested again and with Adam and Eve, their first Sabbath. Note, it wasn't their seventh day but God's recurring seventh day. He established the seven day week, not man and He also put the Jubilee calendar into play in the earth and was observed for a long time and lost and reinstituted at the exodus.

The fact He comes apart to rest with the Heavenly host and obedient men, His Presence in it with His Blessings attached and Him making it Holy is why it has become a special time for the people of God !

He is inviting all who will to come into His Spiritual Sanctuary, the Sabbath, and find peace and rest in Him. We know we are His Beloved and He gives a blessing of peace and rest that the world can not know of until they fall on the Rock and be broken and become of His will.

Brothers and Sisters believe you me He still does the following.

Lu 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

He don't read to us today but speaks to us via His Spirit, His indwelling in You, the Hope of Glory.

I invite you to test Him for a special Sabbath Blessing.

Bro. Ernie.

I am actually starting to slide back the other way now. LOL

It seems Hebrews has a lot of quotes that support law no longer being in effect, so I reread the book assuming it would solidify that position. Funny thing is, that chapter 4 is all about the Sabbath and it certainly makes the case for keeping it. Granted, you could argue this was a letter to the Hebrews and maybe THEY are the ones commanded to keep it since they didn't accept that Christ was the Messiah.

I'm starting to really get the feeling maybe it's just the distinction between "laws" and "commandments". Laws don't matter any more but commandments do? The issue really gets cluttered because there are points in which the commandments are referred to as the "Law of Moses", etc...as "laws". I really wish the writers would have been a little clearer! :)

Still running around in circles.

John

Hi John,

Yes the only laws that were nailed to the cross were the ones that had to do with all the services that Christ's death and shed blood fulfilled and pointed to. They were done away with because it was fulfilled. This then became the new covenant with better promises as it was the Blood of the true Lamb and not of animals.

Heb 8:6 ¶ But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

So you see all before this looked forward in faith to when the blood of the True Lamb would atone for their sins. We look back in faith.

John a couple of your comments ended up in the spam folder for some reason, and since they both were the same I put one out where you tried to put it.

Just remember that Royal Law is just as Eternal as He is.
